Hey Kay, this statement is about gaming. If you do Music Production, this isn’t for you. No wonder you disagree, you should read article about music production if this is your use case.

I was able to boost my PC an extra year because I bought 64 GB of DDR4 RAM (in total for my last upgrade). All of this because I made a very conscious purchase last-gen when I decided to buy and AMD RX Vega 64 8GB card, which boasts HBM2 RAM. That memory let’s you use the extra GBs of main RAM you’re not using on your PC and assigns it to work with the GPU. Needless to say when the card can be assigned as much RAM as you got as long as you leave at least an 4GB or 8GB to have W10 running properly, that configuration was and still would be quite good for the next couple months / even year, depending what you’re doing. Sadly for what I’m doing now, it’s too little since last month, I’ve hit that cap. I need to upgrade now for what I do (music production, the more RAM the much better experience in exponential ways).

64 GB of RAM also, Windows does take it into account. I’ve been running things in 4K on my PC for at least the past 3 years, 64 GB is still a must in my book for this generation if you’re serious about anything PC. I believe in 5 years tops it will be the standard. Or at the very least I hope so.
